This is a walking tour along the levees and canals near the lakefront of New Orleans that includes pickup and transportation from the downtown area to the lakefront. Once at the lakefront we set out on a walk on the levee along the London Canal where we will see some of the excellent wildlife found around New Orleans including many birds like great blue herons, great white egrets, pelicans, osprey, night herons, ibis, limpkin, bald eagles and lots more. We’ll see jumping mullet fish, and perhaps a gator, while learning about the levee system and the natural habitats on the gulf coast.
